Pros: The small size of the Morkie makes them excellent choices for living in an apartment or small house. While they do need walks, they require less exercise than many other breeds. Because they are both small and social, they are great travel companions many Morkies enjoy car trips. Though they have long coats, they are generally silky and easy to keep combed. These dogs are very bright and enjoy learning new things. Like most small dogs, Morkies have a long life expectancy of up to 16 years.
Cons: Though these dogs are smart, they are stubborn which can cause some difficulties with training. Morkies are fragile dogs they do best in homes without small children or larger dogs that could accidentally injure them. Morkies are susceptible to eye, ear and breathing problems regular veterinary care is a necessity to ensure a long life.
